How quickly will I get my tax refund this year?

Trey VantreaseThe IRS expects to issue more than 90% of refunds in less than 21 days.  Due to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act, the IRS must hold refunds on tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until mid-February.  The IRS should begin releasing EITC and ACTC refunds starting February 15th, but cautions taxpayers that their refunds likely won’t start arriving into their bank accounts until the week of February 27th.  For those wanting to check the status of their refunds, the “Where’s My Refund?” feature on the IRS website (IRS.gov) should be able to provide you updates on the status of your refund.
